hi i am an international graduate student in engineering in the United States.
i am graduating on the 13th of June, and thinking about working in the US during OPT. I know we can choose the start date within 60 days after graduation, which is 12th of August at the latest, i am worried that i can not get an offer from company by 12th of August.
We can have three months unemployment right? Can we have this period without having the first job? I mean, can we look for a job until November 12th? or do we have to get to 1st work by the 12th of August otherwise we have to leave the US?
The deadline for you to find a job would be within 3 months of the date listed on your EAD /OPT card. You can count 3 months after that date on the card and determine what your deadline would be for you to have a job by then.
